A hidden gem in Eastlake! I've been going to Moriyama for happy hour since I moved to the neighborhood two years ago. The staff is friendly and offers excellent service. The restaurant itself is very clean with a minimalistic design. The sushi is reasonably priced and high quality. I always get the sushi candy (torched salmon and scallop) along with a few happy hour plates. They offer more traditional rolls and some creative rolls too. Moriyama is one of my favorite sushi spots in the city and stepping in here reminds me of Japan.

The sushi was well made and packaged and very tasty. The ingredients were of strong quality and everything was prepared fresh. We got take out but would definitely come back to eat in. The service was great and it has some really lovely traditional decor. Very warm and relaxing space.

We stopped by Moriyama Sushi while visiting Seattle and it was definitely a great quick sushi spot for lunch! We came about an hour before closing their lunch service, but they were very accommodating and kind! They're located in East Lake so they're mostly surrounded by apartments and some medical affiliated businesses. It was primarily street parking, but parking was pretty easy to find! When you walk in, you'll notice it's not too big but also not a small restaurant. It had a mix of a modern but cozy Japanese influenced interior with both tables and bar seating. The server who helped us was so sweet and always checked in on us! I came with my boyfriend and we both got the Mix and Match Bento Box and Japanese Ceviche to share. The mix and match bento was definitely a great value meal. We got the chirashi regular and it also came with your choice of a California roll or spicy tuna and seaweed salad or squid salad. The chirashi was super fresh and they gave you a good portion for a bento box! The Japanese Ceviche was definitely the most unique of everything we ordered! It was super fresh and I liked how they had this wasabi, lime, jalapeno sauce drizzled over it that added an additional zesty element to it! Don't expect this to taste like traditional ceviche, but this is still a great dish in my opinion! Overall, I highly recommend checking out Moriyama Sushi! Great spot to go to for a casual lunch in a lovely area.

My friend and I were craving sushi on a Thursday. Glad we found a newish sushi place to explore. We arrived around 11:40am, and the restaurant was fairly empty without any wait. There are bento box choices, but we wanted to have some rolls. We had Salmon lemon roll, East lake roll, snow crab California futo maki, and mixed veggie roll. My favorite was salmon lemon roll. The subtle citrus flavor really complemented the salmon well. That being said, the sushi were good but not the best I had. The ambiance is pleasant with clean interior. It was about $70 for the 2 of us. I would return to try out the bento boxes.

We were craving sushi and happened to walk past this restaurant. It was peak hours (~7:30 on a friday night) but we still managed to get seated right away. The waitress was very friendly and helpful! We ordered the Moriawase for two which was a big plate of nigiri. The fish was not bad but also not exceptional. I'm not sure it's worth the pricing, but I was starving and it really hit the spot! It came with miso soup as well which is a nice plus. The matcha beer was a super cool experience! The bitter matcha pairs with the IPA very well, I would definitely recommend this to beer and matcha enjoyers. The sushi candy was really yummy -- seared salmon and scallop with a yummy sauce on top -- but I'm not sure it's worth $13 for two pieces. Overall I had a good time at this cozy sushi restaurant, I'd love to come again to try their happy hour!

Came by Moriyama for happy hour and got the nigiri happy hour platter and the torolicious roll. We enjoyed the freshness of the sashimi in all of our dishes, and the torolicious packed a good yuzu punch that went really well with Wasabi. That being said, we thought both the nigiri and roll pieces were pretty small... which might explain its affordability compared to other places. There were enough seats on a Friday and the ambiance was cozy, modern Japanese. We were even treated by the chef to an appetizer of cucumber and roe! All in all, 5 stars for good, well-priced sushi in Seattle.

While Eastlake has a lot of sushi restaurants, I can't complain about the addition of Moriyama. The sushi is fresh with classic menu items and some fun ones too! I've had a few different things here - lunch bento boxes, classic sushi and nigiri, and some rolls. There's a great happy hour price on sushi sets. It's easy to get seating here and if you order pickup, they are very punctual with your order.

Decided to check this new sushi spot out that open within the last week. Currently only doing take out and delivery until the weather gets warmer. The gentleman working was super kind when picking up my order! The pricing and portions were comparable other spots. Their wasabi had a good kick and not flat like some can be. Overall the fish felt like good quality and tasted great Rainbow roll and spicy yellowtail were as expected Salmon maki had great fish proportions and felt really buttery Eastlake roll was topped off with a nice chili crisp Sushi moriawase had a great variety and the miso soup was a generous amount. They added a complimentary squid salad that I probably wouldn't have gotten myself but was enjoyable. Extra peppers for spice would have been a great additions
